Final Presentation - Christmas and Lapland

yep,

i'm gonna tell you something about finnish christmas and an area called lapland (in the northern part of finland).

christmas in finland is pretty traditional. usually families get together and have a christmas dinner on the 24th. the next video is a really traditional way of spending christmas eve. nowadays it's a bit different but the main aspects are still there (get together with family, christmas sauna,  have traditional christmas dinner, give presents).

and then something about the place where santa claus comes from.
in tales, santa claus comes from a place called korvatunturi. but in real life, it's part of a military area, so you can't go there without a permission.

santa clause's village is located in rovaniemi, lapland (in the arctic circle). people all over the world visit the place year through. of course the season peak is winter time. also children from all over the world send their wishes for santa claus every year.

finally, probably the biggest reason why people go to lapland are the northern lights.
